Professional painting for the DIY-er?
Most of the FCs I've been looking at have minor rust issues (around the rear wheel wells mostly) and the paint is faded, or rubbed off in places like around the door handles and such.
I like to do things myself for the sheer satisfaction of knowing I did it (and because I'm a cheap-***).
I'm proficient with rust removal, sanding, and bondo, but all I've ever done for paint is use spraypaint, which doesn't turn out too well IMO. I'd like to get a sprayer, and some good paints and go to town on my future FC, but I'm unsure of how to begin.
Does anyone know of any guides, and what equipment I should be looking for? If I can get a sprayer that also works for things like painting my house, that would be even better. Oh, and who mixes and sells the kind of paints you'd want to use on a car?

My uncles a body man, does all his own paint. Taught by my grandfather who helped develop metalic paints. Im learning very slowly myself, but I can give you a basis, just not right now.
Also-
Wankothesane Just did his own paint job.
It is easy if you have the time, patience, space to do it in, and money to spend on equipment.
The only thing I dont like is that once people know you can do it, they want their car painted!

My space would have to be a single car garage ATM, but it's all mine and I can leave the car in there for as long as it takes, and I plan on knocking it down next summer and building a much nicer garage, so overspray is not a concern, and I can clean it out pretty well to cut down on dust.
As far as the equipment goes, I'm not so sure what I exactly need. My parent's just bought a really nice pressure washer, which I'm sure will be of use at some point, and I'm pretty sure I need an air compressor to go with the sprayer.
