I am (99%) buying an FD this weekend but the front bumper is sight unseen (supposedly slightly warped and with some touch up paint, like a slow/minor bump on a pole perhaps) and I might be strongly inclined to replace it with a '99 spec bumper.

It is stock black and has never been buffed. I plan to buff it and hopefully the paint will shine like new.

That said, I have no idea what paint shops charge to paint a bumper and am curious so I can factor that in to any price negotiation. Right now I have listed out the costs to do the 99 conversion:

I can probably install the bumper myself, but need to get it painted and have no idea what that costs - stock black.

I am in DFW if anyone happens to know a shop here and has done this before.

 

I paid $370 for my bumper to be painted.

 

just know that it will not be 100% the same color as the whole car. the bodyshop will do their best but you cant really replicate time and weather.

 

I got quoted 450 for VR from one shop.

But thank god my dad found someone thats willing to do it for like 250.
