Prevention of cracking Feed side skirts?
I remember a post of someone who bought authentic feed sideskirts but stated that he notice cracks in them after a couple of months.
I can see how rocks and what not could hit them cracking them. They are not super strong nor flexible (I don't think).
Well since I had the rotary extreme replicas I figure I would spray the underside with plastidip (black). Not sure it will make any difference or not but its only a $1.50 investment and some time on a hot day.

I'm hoping none...I was hoping the effect would be like when people put tape over glass or their front head light plexiglass to decrease the chance of cracking when stuck...
Just kinda a flexible layer for support...hence the plastidip spray.
All I probably did was add some weight

Most ppl don't crack their skirts from small rocks hitting them. They crack them from going onto or off of an entrance/ramp that's angled to steep, and the weight of the car pushes the car past the lowest point of the sideskirt. Or, you hit a pothole, bottom out, and the skirts are crushed.
In both of these cases, no amount of coating will help your skirts. They WILL crack. The ONLY solution is to have skirts made of urethane or polyfiber.
Thank God, my skirts have been through HELL and back. I actually had a shop put my car on a lift, but the lift mounts weren't raised up fully. So the lift arms basically flattened my skirts...an ENORMOUS amount of weight on the skirts. I started screaming at 'em, they brought it back down, and the skirts just popped back into shape! That's not mentioning the 1001 bumps, entrances, and potholes I've traversed. Oh, and my skirts are made of polyfiber
