Prep tips for full repaint

I am basically looking for some tips on what you guys think is best as far as preparation for painting. Its going to be the same color so I wont be doing the engine bay or door jams. But there are some dents and small holes in various parts of the body. I am pretty good with fiberglass but not with bondo. I can never seem to mix it right or something because it always either hardens too fast or doesnt dry.
Im would like some tips on how to do this or some methods you guys use or any products you reccommend.

Also should I prime the whole car or should I just give it a really good sanding. The paint on it is not factory but it is a few years old.
