I don't always think that the prices that the Japanese companies charge for an original is always worth it. I can't justify spending $1600+ on a front bumper to be shipped from Japan. That's not even covering the shipping. Around $1600 is what the price is at Rotary Extreme for an authentic Feed front bumper or RE Amemiya N1 front bumper. Alot of people complain about the markup on prices for OEM parts, so why would you expect different with this?

when i purchased my FD, i appreciated it not only for the car its supposed to be, but for what the previous owner did to make it be "all that it can be". as cheesy as it sounds, i have a sappy love relationship with my car :P. but even with the fine line of human and machine, i treat my FD with the best products even though i'm constantly broke. i do it piece by piece and relish every part i acquire. i just get confused when some people don't seem to be like me.
I understand somewhat were you are coming from, I was in the same boat as you are at one point. I definitely agree that some replicas are pure junk, though I can also say that it's hit or miss. Like anything else, there is some good, some bad.

I have a '69 Toyota FJ-40 landcruiser that in my younger years, spent $40k on it, and this is my 2nd FD with the mods in my sig. . But like I said earlier, my financial obligations force me to look at other avenues when it comes to non-priority items such as accessories for the FD. When you find a replica that you know fits well, its mightly tempting to purchase it at a 1/3 of the cost of the real deal.
As far as replica stuff on my FD, I just bought RE's urathane bumper and his bumper lights and his apexi style sides shirts. All the knock-offs should and will fit fine, judging from comments made here by the members. Most recently I purchased a rare m2 CF vented hood. And FWIW, I bought pre-auto's light kit and although his bumper surely has fitment problems, my lights fit quite well.

I don't think AutoExe is going out of business anytime soon, but I'm sure they appreciate your support.

the hood is closed all the way. and I will need to pay another $400 to fix it.

Doesnt matter moron what I did or do. Replicas are here too just the same. Shipping from Japan say like on the lip can cost $300.

I didnt say going out of business. READING is your friend.

I'm sorry. You're right. I was WAY out of line paying over 300 dollars less for the same thing made out of the same materials with no wait for shipping.

If you wanna pay a 300% mark up just to be loyal to a Japanese company that's never even heard of you, that's your decision. I'll save my money for other stuff.

There's no need to get all *** hurt over my lip on my car. I'm not selling anything, just demonstrating that not all replicas are pieces of ****. Shop around, find what you want and pay as little as possible for it. That's common sense.

I agree that most of the time you get what you paid for. I purchased a GTC replica from pre-auto and the body shop couldn't get it to fit. I was told it would cost an additional $400-500 in labor to get the piece to fit. I ordered another replica from pettit and ya it cost more than the pre-auto piece but it fit with no issues. So I think when it comes to replicas, ya there's plenty of crap out there, but there are some reputable companies that provide good quality products. Good luck with your bumper.

wow, someone doesnt know how to put parts on. i dont care what anyone says, i could make that fit perfect in 30 minutes. dont go ragging on us untill u've called us. we walk plenty of people through getting stuff to fit perfect. PLUS obviously the hood is propped up by the hood stops. anyone who has the scoot hood knows u have to cut and or trim the rubber hood stops to get it to suck down to stock hidth. i have sold oodles of these fronts, and not one person has complained. its the only front i sell that fits awesome.

As for the GTC, we don't sell it, we bid them out from other companies and i KNOW i tell everyone that buys it what is in store to make it fit. once again, there's a rag session going on without anyone THINKING. id love to know who installed the hood and front and lights.Id seriously aske them some " how long have u been doing this or been out of junior high?". the front looks fine to me, IT'S THE LIGHTS AND HOOD THAT DON'T FIT. and the thing is this person could make them fit with about 30 minutes of time.
IM sorry but if you're going to come in here and bash me and my lively hood, you should have invited me to the convo. For everyone else: look at the car on your own and you can see how the lights and hood are both propped up. then u have to ask " it is wrecked? why is there a crack in the front? why did this guy take the time to install the lights to try and make it look like the front didn't fit!?!" i had no prob getting it to fit on this car: www.pre-auto.com/munira or any of the other cars ive done. as in i didn't have to cut or re build or sand anything. it just goes on into place.

here's my challenge: dude, call me and i can gaurantee i can help u make that hood and light kit fit OVER the phone. even thought i t's not my product.

guys!! i so glad u see the light! . the bumper is honestly the best fitting part we sell. it literally goes right on. no reworking it or anything. look at the edges where the fender and bumper meet in the wheel well, why are the cracked and as trav said, the bumper is a dif color?! before we trash pre-auto.com lets think about this JunsupraTT.....

the N1 bumper made the fender get damaged. the bumper was a little short than original width of fenders. it needs some work for fitting fender lines...I just want "rx7club.com ppl" to know how it fits on FDs.

the bumper is a dif color?!
the bumper from my friend who bought it on pre-auto.com. that's why the different color is already painted on it. anyhow, replica is replica.. oh..when the bumper has cracked, I can see too much resin in the edge of shape..."NICE" fiberglass job!!

If you guys want, I will take a picture and show you guys what's different between original re-amemiya and this bumper.

Personally I find that the fitment on the veilside is even worse....

Also the bumper looks 100% fine in all the pics I have seen. Maybe buying a used and cracked bumper was the bad idea....

I also think the Veilside bumper looks like **** compared to the Pre Auto bumper... I don't see where the bumper is causing any fitment issues... Looks more like you didn't remove/trim the bump stops for the hood to me...
