Basically I just took out the stock cd player/tape/radio and moved it to the drivers side storage bin (damn bose stuff won't work with aftermarket stuff, so I kept it) I wanted a stock new car look. I don't like that flip down crap, especially on the FD with the A/C controls, etc. right there. I found the stuff on ebay, $180 for the screen and DVD player. Its audiovox, and was originally silver, but I painted it a darker flat grey so it wouldn't stand out as much. The screen was just about a perfect fit, so it was really easy to mount, I just screwed some pieces of plastic behind the screen that keep it from falling back, and it mounts to them with some weak epoxy (just in case I ever need to get back there) The dvd player is mounted underneath the drivers seat, but its tiny, so you'd never really know it was there. Audio is sent through the stock bose system with a radio adapter I had to buy, which is mounted in the center tunnel.

Yes, the dvd player plays cd's and dvd's, and the stock CD player still works, as well as the stock tape player and radio. So I have 2 cd players, a dvd player, a tape player and a radio....I just need navigation.

From everything I read on this forum, you need an adapter found in the crutchfield catalog. Apparently bose uses line level inputs sent to individual amps for each speaker, which then sends electricity to the speaker.

There was already another thread about this, but heres mine. I have to make a new trim ring to make it look flush, other than that its a sweet headunit. Pioneer D1, sounds amazing with my amps and other speakers.

That pioneer is sick. I am looking for a motorized flip out but cant find one for a good price. (alpine iva-310). Ebay is just full of scamz and ill be damned if im gonna pay 1,500 for something like that. Just 500 more and i can get efini turbos so whats the point.

I'm having a hell of a time getting my flip-out to fit in my FD. It sticks out 2 inches with the vga cable connected and still sticks out about 1 without it.

Now, does anyone know if the Alpine CDA-9855 fit in the FD. Crutchfield says it cant. But The 53 can fit and they are basically the same thing.

Yea I figured I was gonna have to remove that bracket. Don't have an air saw yet though so I'll try to kill the welds with a punch and if that doesn't work then I guess I gotta get the saw (or I could probably dremel it out).
