polishing 2001 taillight

i picked up these 2001 taillights from ebay for $80 but they were painted yellow. i was able to remove the paint and polish them up. im not finished yet but they are comming along good. heres a few pics.

I would have to see them on the car to really get the full look of them painted like that, but I doubt it would look good. Nice work. Even though you had to strip the paint off 80 bucks still wasn't a bad deal for those, being 99 specs and all.

I too am curious as to what you used to remove the paint. That is pretty good if you didn't damage the plastic.

i did not use a paint stripper b/c it would damage the plastic. i used sandpaper for the whole thing. started with 120 and ended with 1500. i still need to use the 1000 and 15000 more but it worked well

thats how my tails were when i got them....i used 120 on a DA and worked my gradually up to 2000 then i used some coarse buffing compound and a variable speed buffer and then fine grit and then i finished up with some Novus or Novis plastic polish....they looked brand new when i got done.

Nice

Meguiars makes a Plastic polish that works excelant as well. Turns foggy plastic corner lights or head lights into brand new with some time and lots of elbow grease, nice work though
