Thumbs up Polished Wiper Holders?

So I decided to repaint my wiper holders since they were kind burned out by the sun...I sanded them to the metal and then thought "Hey, these would probably look pretty good with a polish on them!" Haven't done it yet but figured I would try it later today or over the weekend....Whadda ya tink? anyone done this yet? I fear the rice

Good idea, but they're not aluminum - they're steel. They'll rust out if you polish them.

What are you using to polish your parts anyway?

I have a grinder with a couple different buffing wheels. But to knock the paint off I use one of those wheels with the steel bristles...then sand paper (fine) to give that smooth finish...then buffing wheel with red rouge. then a different buffing wheel with white rouge...and Tadaaaa! bright and shiny!

So I think I going to start on the wipers and clear coat them...I think it will look pretty good...if it's too ricey I'll just paint them black again..

I would imagine that as long as you coated them, they will be fine.

However, I would suggest black, but that's just me. It's your car, have fun!

I'll take a photo of them with the paint knocked off them and somewhat polished and stick them on there and post it...anyway...will probably be the weekend before that happens though.

Yea i can imagine, polished screaming rice, not as bad as red, yellow blue etc etc. I painted them black on my supra and they came out looking pretty good.

I was kinda thinking about keeping them off too since I never drive in rain...I had them off and drove without them one day and it was like the field of view opened up...Would suk if you got caught in an unexpected downpour though...

Will go ahead and pain them black though. any recommendations on pain type?

Keep a bottle of rainX in the car and some towels, and you should be fine.
