Plasi-Diped my Wheels and Dash Last Weekend (Pics)

Last weekend I thought I'd refresh my dash and wheels with Plasi-Dip, that way if I didn't like it I could just peal it off. Here are the results.

As a note for those trying to redo their their dash, use sandpaper, any other process just doesn't work.

Pretty good. Especially since I'm not really a painter. The texture is like the stock interior.

And I'm really digging the white on the wheels. They also have a pearl, gloss, or metallic finish you can get for this paint.

Great idea. Does the plasti dip peel off easily?

Takes a little work to get it going, but once you get an edge it works. There are a lot of you tube videos that show it. I found the smoother the surface the easier it peals when you want it to.

Yes, the plasti-dip will fill in some scratches, but the better the prep the better the paint. I used 80 grit, followed by 120, then 600 and finally 1000. As you can see I really didn't spend enough time in the sanding part, you can see the scratches I didn't get out.

Don't use 80 or 120 grit that's why you can see the scratches, 320 is enough to take off the old finish and won't leave the plastic grooved like that.

DOT 3 brake fluid.... no sand paper required... worked great for me! Gave it a good cleaning before applying the plasti-dip paint... turned out nice.
