I recommend using Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner Plus. And 303 Aerospace Protectant. Both can be found here.
1. Warm engine up slightly (enough to loosen oil, grime etc... But not hot enough where it will burn you, or steam when water is applied.)
2. Cover any open intake, electronics etc... (If you think it might harm it cover it)
3. Wet engine down and apply Meguiar's All Purpose cleaner plus, let it soak in. Scrub any tough spots, then use the pressure washer at your local car wash, or your hose and wash away all cleaner, dirt, dust, etc...
4. Dry off all that you are able to get by hand then start your engine and let it idle to burn off any excess water.
5. Get a paint brush towels etc... And go over entire engine bay, tackling all crevices ensuring that you have it the cleanest you can.
6. Spray 303 Aerospace Protectant over, all hoses plastics, etc... Let it stand for about 5 mins then wipe off any excess.
7. Stand back and enjoy your clean engine bay.
If you keep up on it after that cleaning will be much easier. Also the 303 and Meguiar's can be used for a multitude of other things. (Meguiar's: interior carpet etc... 303: dash, tires, trim etc...)
Sorry so long

Mitch..thanks a lot for taking the time to write all that. That's actually exactly what I was looking for
Question tho...can either of the two hurt paint on the body at all? i.e., do i need to cover up the fenders and what not when doing this?
Thanks
~Ramy
PS...i LOVE the quote in your sig haha

haha yeah I saw that quote and just had to put it in my sig
But anyways I spray it on everything, it didn't do any harm, but! I would first test it in a small spot on your paint somewhere inside the engine bay and see if it affects it... If not go ahead. I would make sure you rinse all of the cleaner off.
The meguiars all purpose cleaner is great though, you can spray it on oil and watch it drain off. The 303 areospace protectant is awsome too I use it on everything and recommend it to everyone lol. You will be pleased with the results. Look at the pictures of my tires etc..
If you have any other questions let me know

Thief! lol
I would be careful with the black... On the back of the Meguiars cleaner it has dillution ratios for diffrent tasks and dewaxing is 1:24 the dillution i used for engine degreasing was 1:4 just make sure you test it somewhere first. Good Luck!
