That's the way to do it! Very nice job.

Someday when I remove my dash I will do the same. As of now I just have the plastic pieces covered with leather; dash and center console. I will be doing the door plastic soon.

Very nice. Is that real or synthetic leather?

Hours and hours of my life... Really not that hard just time consuming. My fingers are sore from pulling and pinching, haha

What adhesive did you use? And did you use a heat gun or anything else like that to help in shrinking it to fit contours?

atihun = how did you cover the AC controls?

mirabile = react to sunlight? In what way?

CMonakar = Real, aniline dyed

fastcarfreak = For you to do it or for me? Alot or a whole lot

veilsideS14 = No heat gun needed, "DAP Weldwood" contact cement for the edges, "Duro All Purpose Spray Adhesive" for the large areas.

danny hahn = Thanks! I've covered a few small parts before. I stole the hide the glue was 8 bucks I think.

Very nice. I've been thinking about doing this to my tan, cheap-looking door panels...

Well how much do you anticipate it costing you when your finished? Not how much it would cost you to do it for me. I'm just curious to know a rough estimate of what the materials cost...

I moved the AC controls as I wanted to add in some new gauges. I then used one piece of leather over the plastic using contact cement. I also streched the leather in places where it goes a bit inward, like at the gauge areas and controls.

I then carefully cut out the remaining leather where there were openings.

I also added new gauges to the dash and then covered the dash with leather. I tried to do it with one piece, but the curves are too much, so I used 3 pieces.

I think a half hide will do the dash and center console, it just depends on the amount of mistakes made & the size of the hide. I've got 10 bucks plus the cost of the leather. I've seen the leather half hides range from $30 to $75 & whole hides from $75 to $150. The glossy leather is less user friendly, doesn't stretch or conform to corners as well as the aniline dyed. The piece I bought I paid 30 bucks

Now that is impressive! I think I'll try "Ultrasuede" on these parts. I was going to paint them but this has inspired me to try. I want to try the door panels but the bottoms look to be very troublesome

Looks a lot better than i imagined it would. Love the center console section with the a/c relocation and the new gauges!

I just realized that you covered up the holes for the fan speed... The more I think about it they are kind of pointless. They were my biggest concern... Ultrasuede here I come!

It looks great. Excellent work. I'm curious what the white stuff was on the firewall. Did you do some form of sound proofing, like Dynamat?
