pics of aftermarket steering wheel

Hey I wanna change my steering wheel because the us spec is so boring. What other steering wheel is good that fits our 3rd gen? Anyone have one post some pics please, I'm gathering Ideas. I think the 99 and up rx7 steering wheel looks really good but too expensive.

Very few steering wheels are going to fit the USDM FD without an adapter. You could try the JDM stuff and even some Miata wheels fit with little work. If you are wanting an aftermarket wheel though, here are some suggestions.

*MOMO Fighter. It looks great and is relatively inexpensive.
*MOMO Driver. Again, good looking but at around $400 it better be nice.
*Mugen FG360. Technically a Honda wheel but if you can find one, they look nice. One catch though. They are all used.
*RE Amemiya. The most "purist" route IMO. Hard to find. Good Looking.
*Most any Nardi wheel. Makers of the JDM wheels.
*Most any Sparco wheel. Easy to find.

Keep in mind that, if you do go with an aftermarket wheel, you will need an adapter and not all of these steering wheels use the same one.

Good luck.

I love the millenium wheel and if i wanted an aftermarket wheel, that'd probably be the one i'd get. But i'm gonna go the OEM route and probably pick up a 99 wheel sooner or later. Sadly, it'll probably be much later.

It is, i just kept looking and looking and lucky enough i found both of those in a 2 week period. Dont buy it new from the dealership if you can. It will turn out to be like 900 bucks total. I was lucky enough to put mine together for 175 =).

Id start a calling around at scrap yards for protege and miatas and just getting the wheel. and hopefully if the airbag isnt blown get that but if its at a junk yard most times it might be. Airbags are sold on ebay for anywhere around 150 to 399.

A friend of mine has a modded protege, he is thinking about changing his wheel too, hopefully I can convince him to give it to me if he does decide to change it I was quoted something like $850 from a Mazda parts dealer a few eeeks ago so I'm planning on going to the junkyard this weekend. Hopefully I'll find something there. But $175, what a steal!

Here's a question, I just bought a Momo Driver wheel, which quick disconnect hub would work? I was going to get the Finish Line Performance Miata hub adaptor, so do I have to buy the hub adaptor AND the quick disconnect hub?

Indeed, you need to buy at the very least the hub adaptor (steering boss). The quick disconnect is an option that doubles as a spacer to get the wheel closer to you by +/-2" and the disconnect feature.
