Pettit CF/FG Rear Hatch

Anyone here have the CF or FG rear hatch from Pettit.

I was wondering on your experiences with it. It is drastically lighter but it looks sooooo flimsy. If you have one, I'd like to know how you handled remounting the rear wiper or if you just blew it off.

I don't have one, but it seems like you would want to lose the rear wiper. The whole point is weight loss, right? So why would you keep the wiper if you want to reduce weight?

I actually bought one so I have a FG one in my office. CF was going to take too long and the weight savings was minimal and this $200 cheaper...

The thing is light. I mean scary light. I'm gone to go ahead and go with it. I still have my old hatch as well as a spare I was going to sell. I won't miss the defroster for sure but I kind of liked having a rear wiper. But since my wreck I'll be enforcing the no Rain policy in addition to the No Snow policy instituted 5 years ago after another wreck...my xterra is a blast to drive in rain and mud anyways

Do these actually mount with the stock latch or do you need to pin them? Takes stock glass or polycarbonate?

I decided not to use the hatch. My body shop refused to put in for one thing and honestly, I almost felt stupid bringing it over to them.

It is *super* light and super flimsy. I'll sell mine for $200...I paid like $250 and it's never been used.
