Question FD3S Sleepy eye mod

Hey guys I was looking into sleepy eyes for my fd and I found the thread in the 3rd gen faqs but the pics seem to not load. I was just wondering if anyone had the pics for the write up.

all you do is take the motor apart. put some non-conductive tape on the outer contact and seal back up. btw when you tirn off your headlights the unit will do its full rotation. if you want the permanent sleepy eye you'll might hafta remove the whole motor and afix your height. I just did this to my fd amd retro'd in some hella projectors. looks real nice

if you install sleepy eye or lazy eye or what ever you want to call it, you are ricing out your FD.

What would be ricing out my fd? How about the evo r lights and huge coffee can on my car like most hondas and half the rx7 on this forum. If I do perform this mod its still stock set up. And secondly I did search so you can just quit being stupid.

Look I have two cars with pop up lights and kinda looking for something different. I just think they are kind of cool looking. Its better than the ebay light kits that so many people use.

How did you fix your height on them? I have never heard of that.

An fd is not a 240? what does that even mean? Yes, fd are way better than 240, but both have great potential. Hell you swap a rb25 in a 240 and its amazing, its just like people who want to swap a ls6 in a fd. The thing about people customizing their cars is they do it the way the want it. Although I dont agree with most exterior mods on an fd because I like the body styling the way it is I do like the lazy eyes. Am I going to lose 100hp because I did the sleepy eye mod? Yes, of course. I am just going to be the turdiest car on the road and lose races to civics and 5 hp go carts. Do I care? No. I like to drive slow and my car to be riced out. It is my passion. Gotta love sarcasm.

LS6 != craptacular sleepy eye mod. But if your set on it, do it.

Not trying to be rude, just letting you know it isn't embraced with open arms by most FD owners.

It's obvious he's going to do it regardless.

I believe if you just pull the fuse for the retractor motor and then manually adjust it to the desired position that will work. Could be wrong though

13,000? I was under the impression there were <8,000 left. And we all now it is easier to know 8,000 owners. Duh.

i said the ls6 does not equal the sleepy mod. I love the LSx, I've personally have had my hand on or in 200+ LS engines.

Oh ok I thought you were sayng you didnt like them. I like how so many people just bashed me for wanting to mod my fd in a way that I like it. Thanks for the supporters though. I have a spare set of headlights with the whole assemblies so I may try experimenting with them tonight.

Though the only reason i did the sleepy eye to my car was because I had other headlights to retro-fit into the stock housing (hella projectors and bulbs.). Imo the stock headlamps with the sleepy-eye looks like nuts.
