Pretty cool. Not many people put so much work into their interior. I had never thought of doing leather. Your work looks very skilled. Congrats!

Now if you can make an FD interior that never squeeks or rattles I'll pay you big bucks to do mine too!

Those are stock suede seats. The head rest with the embroidered logo, and the upper back with the embroidered "RX-7 FD" are the leather pieces covering only those areas. I was forced to I come up with this idea/design because there was a hole a size of a bullet in the upper back of the seat. No one could beat this car racing it so they had to use a gun, which is the only thing that was fast enough.

 

Looks nice, very original. the only thing that i wouldn't have done was the "RX7 R1" lettering under the stereo. but still very unique.

Oh and whats up with all the gauges? LMAO

Depending on the material it can be $300 for material alone....

 

I may redo that piece because of the "RX-7 R1", I am trying to figure out if I like it or not. That one is a pain in the butt to work on with all the little hole and stuff. Gauges? Sorry, I don't know what you mean or the term, LMAO.

 

GodSquadMandrake is right, the material alone was around $350, because I got the finest leather. Man, my wife is getting on my case for not spending more time with the family, and I am staying up very late at night to work on my baby. Let me think about it. I have to figure out the amount of time involve and to ask the boss for some free time. Actually, my wife is pretty cool as long as I shut up and bring home the bacon.

By the way, if you drive your wife's car, what does she drive? Your 7? Or do you make her take the bus? My daily drive is an '03 Dodge Durango quad-cab.

 

The good thing about leather is that it act as a cushion so it stops all the squeeks and rattles. By the way, I beefed up both door haddles with metal bars inside so when you grab it, it feels extremely firm. Ask one of my buddy up here, grinn253, who likes to touch my baby.

You know what's annoying about having a windshield? It distracts you from looking at all your pretty gauges.

Kayin, whatever you do, if you do this, MAKE SURE you find a very expensive top notch guy to do the work. I know how **** you are about your FD (much like I am). It will take a LOT of time and patience to wrap something like a door panel in leather while keeping the "tightness" of the wrap uniform (not tight around the angles and bends, and loose along the straight parts etc), as well as applying the correct amount of adhesive to make it last. Def. not a noob job.

On that note, I know a local guy for it if you're interested...
