Question painting shine pieces

Hey guys, I just received my FEED FRP replica skirts from ShineAutoProject. I'm going for something to match my front lip, and while the pieces are black, in some spots they are different shades from each other. So I was considering using primer on the pieces, and just using flat black spray paint because it is in an easily damaged area and I don't want the chipping associated with real paint, plus I don't really want the black to match the car 100%. I know shineautoproject has a "how to" on putting paint on their pieces, but thats with real paint. Anyone think that this primer/spray paint will work? btw I'm also going for a semi-rough surface. Thanks for the help! ~A-Rod

i dont think you are going to find many people who spray painted their ShineAP side skirts. I painted mine with auto paint.

My point is, I don't want shiny auto paint. I'm not looking to save a buck, thats not the issue. I want a dull paint that will match the front lip. Somebody suggested having them coated with the stuff you cover bedliners with, but idk about that.

I'm not educated in any auto body paint... what is this flattener? Where can I get it, and how much does it cost? Will it leave a rough/gritty surface?

my whole kit is from shine, any good body guy can make your side skirts match any color, do it right the first time, take it to a shop and bring them something to match it with

The bedliner is a good idea in the sense that it will also protect the side skirt. You can go to an auto parts store and they usually have a display shopwing what the finished product looks like. You can also look up rear diffusers in the FD section, most people spray them with bedliner. I plan on doing the same with my side skirts and rear diffuser.

Hopefully this might help clarify what certain products are and how to paint these:

Try satin bumper paint. Buy it at an auto paint store. I jsut did and I am going to embark on the same project.
Don't forget the primer too - very important
