Painting Panels

I see it is very hard to find 3rd gen door panels in tan that people haven't kicked to death getting in and out of the car, and you can't clean it for ****, so.....

Has anyone had any good experiances with painting or some type of coating on the door panels that would be close to stock color, and not crack and chip easily? Maybe some sort of like bed liner coatings, but softer and in tan?

You need to look through the two dozen threads already discussing this topic in the interior/exterior forum. Search "paint interior panels"
Eastwoodco.com sells numerous products. Some work, some don't. I tried it a few years ago and the end result was to buy new panels.

If you want to color match it, you can get vinyl spray paint. It bonds okay to the vinyl/plastic but will rub off in higher traffic areas. I wouldn't do it to my car.

Any other thoughts on removing those black streak marks in the doors from people not being careful and rubbing their feet across it every time they exited the car? I scrubbed on them like there was no tomorrow with a mild soap and water to no resolve.

While my car is down, I'm trying to address all the cosmetic issues, even though the interior actually is really clean, I'm trying to bring it back to "almost new" status.

Holy ****, I used the powdered laundry soap and a bristle like you said, and my door panels look brand new!!!

Okay did that and replaced one of my cracked 99 spec lenses, now it's on to the rest of the cosmetic issues. This bitch is going to look damn near new when I'm done New carpet and floor mats, a few interior pieces replaced that are peeling or missing, new seat skins, etc.

I'm almost, in a sick way, glad the motor popped. Now instead of driving it, I can use that time to fix all the cosmetic issues and bring it back to life through the winter.
