Painting a fender. How much?

Just curious if anyone with body work experience could give me an estimate for what you think it would cost to sand and paint my right fender. I have a nasty scratch from a small incident a while back. Oh yeah, it's a Vintage Red 3rd-gen. Thanks.

The paint will cost more than $250....

RedX7: I had to repair a small parking lot incident to my left rear quarter panel. It was about $2400 at a first rate shop. I believe the painting portion was about $1000. The PROPER way to blend in the paint is to paint the fender up through the C-pillar, rear bumper, and hatch.

Unless you are actually just talking about a "touch-up" situation, that's what it will cost at a very good shop (in Cali anyway).

Rynberg: Yeah, I imagine rear quarter panel would be expensive, but this is just the front fender. I'm hoping for $400-$500 max. It doesn't have to be absolute 1st rate. Just something decent until I get the whole thing repainted in a year or so. Thanks though.

Good quality auto paint costs more than that, not even including a clear coat......

$500 sounds about right to repair minor fender damage and respray. If you're going to have the whole car repainted anyway, save your money and do it all at a later time.

That would be the wisest thing to do, but that scratch is just annoying the hell out of me. And I won't have the money for a full paint job for a while because I plan on getting a C-West body kit, and getting it all painted Nissan Daytona Blue at one time.
