Painting Engine Bay Question

Hey Fellow 7 and Misc. car owners, i have a quick question. How much work is entailed with painting the interior of the engine bay? Or a more specific question, how much would i have to pay a bodyshop to paint the interior of the engine bay? I essentially want to cover up as much of the vintage red as i can internally, as I would like to have my car Titanium Silver Metallic. The rough estimate on paint so far (this includes trunk lid, hinges, and top part of the engine bay (essentially the top lining) is right at $3400.

I wont have time to check with my local shop this week, so I figured id ask you guys, ask i have internet access 24 hours a day via my cell phone. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,
Chris

Generally you need to remove the engine..then everything that is attached to the sidewalls & firewall (look at an engine bay pic to see all that). It is quite a task I would say. However, FD3BOOST had his bay painted without removing the engine and surrounding material and it looks great. How much work it entailed would have to be for him to tell us...I don't think I have ever read him saying how the bodyshop did it. Maybe it was magic because there is a lot of crap on the walls

If --> You <-- take everything out I'd say you'd get it thrown in for the price of paint since they'll save time / labor on masking all that off... or +$200.00 or so... I'm no expert, but when I posed that same question to my body shop.. the price to paint the car was higher, but if I did all the other work to remove the Interior and Engine and then Flat-Bedded the car to them it was less than $500 more, and I seem to remember him telling me if I'd refer 2-3 Custumers to him he'd throw it in... but I haven't been real anctious to tear the whole thing appart, plus flat bedding the cassis there isn't cheap either...

LOL, my sentiments exactly DCrosby. If i had time to pull the motor, I would, but essentially, I am on call, and I wouldnt really have any free time to do it for another 4 months, as the work at my job is backlogged to hell (too many claims to catch up on). I think i may just keep her red, just have a new coat painted on her. . . . . . although that gunmetal metallic is a killer color. . . . Thanks for the info guys!
