Painting Calipers. How to paint the "MAZDA"?

Hi,

i saw alot of pictures where the Mazda writing was painted in a different color than the rest of the caliper. How do you da that? I would mask the writing with tape or something, but that seem to be difficult.

Thanks for help.

mask the caliper. with a blade, remove the mask of the mazda and paint. then remove the rest of the tape and you are done.

I painted the whole caliper black then shaved the paint off of the raised mazda logo with a dremel leaving a bare metal mazda logo. Then you can clear over that. Looks real good an the lines of the logo turn out perfect. i could get pics if you want

ya could paint the caliper then after its dry take a rubber roller and take some spray paint, spry it in a cup and use a brush to put a thin coat on the roller then run the roller over the lettering, that is if its raised lettering.

nope, theyre pretty cake. remove the brake line, unbolt the bracket that holds the brake line in place, then the last 2 bolts holding the caliper to the knuckle (one on top and one on bottom)

+1 i just sprayed paint into a cup and painted it on with a brush... the technique everyone is talking about is good if u want the polished mazda logo but if u want any other color it wont work...
heres a crappy pic of mine i stole from someone who took it at the carlisi meet... i painted the mazda black..

i use a brush with VHT high temp paint with a brush to fix the nicks on my exhaust from rocks, mufflers too looks just like it was sprayed. Also keeps the pipes from rusting.

good for touching up bolt tops after they have been tightened down if ya have extra paint left over from when ya got your car sprayed

okay i thought if i use a brush there will occur stripes. anyway, since i want to paint the calipers in black, i think the polished version looks best.

I painted my calipers with black caliper paint. Than bought a dupli color scratch fix, in white. The top has a point on it, and if you unscrew it, has a brush underneath. I didn't even have to mask anything, was really easy. It took 2 coats, with the brush side.
