Was wondering if anyone has any pics of a painted '99 spec lip on the stock front. I have seen a lot of pictures of a painted '99 lip on the '99 front that looks really good and was wondering what it would look like on the stock front end. Or in that case if anyone has pics of the R1 lip painted on a stock front end I'm interested also.

I think it would look nice until you hit your first curb.

 

Personally I like them black, but John is right - the first curb or parking berm you hit is going to trash your paint. And as careful as you try to be, it's going to happen eventually.

I had a painted R1 lip on my stock bumper before, but I swapped it with a painted 99 spec lip. Both looked pretty good IMO. I'm planning on upgrading to the 99 bumper soon though.

 

i painted mine, but I did it in bumper black. I got tired of armor-alling the damned thing. It looks brand new and shiny all the time. Like others have mentioned you WILL scrape it eventually.

 

I think the Red one looks better that the Silver one. No offense, just my opinion.
