Also, if you want a show quality job, Brian at B&D Auto in Pleasanton is the man -- for almost $10k.
There is a place called The Works that is about 4 miles from my work, funny...

What's funny about the The Works is that is this rundown-looking warehouse in an industrial area. And then you go inside and see Ferraris, Porsches, Mercedes, BMWs, and other exotic cars getting repaired. I guess it pays for a high end body shop to keep a low profile...

Your car looks incredible. I'd love to see it in person, (since we are in Maryland) at a meet or something sometime.

How much would it be to match the stock paint (if thats possible) on say a 89 FC for a front bumper , side skirts, and rear bumper? it should be a lot cheaper than a whole body job right?

Well, why don't you go to a few local body shops and ask? That way, you'll actually know instead of getting guesses....

Unless your car has already been repainted, it's likely that your 15 year old paint is pretty worn. Matching wouldn't really be possible.

My paint job was $3800. That included all the body work (bunch of dings), mounting the body kit, hood, and spoiler. Its painted in Chrysler Electric Blue Pearl. (I know I need wheels really bad)

If you aren't man enough to take insults about your nasty-*** front bumper, then don't post pics of it on a public forum....

There are a lot of ******** on this site, and it really pisses me off. People shouldn't act that immature. Seriously now, there are a lot of rude people on here. If you don't like it, then keep it to yourself or don't be so rude about it. I have a hell of a lot of work into my car, so yea, it does hurt when people put it down.

I know you were expecting "That's awesome!!" and "That's the most beauiful body kit I've ever seen"..

Get used to it, especially since you posted a huge pic of it. When you do that you're saying "Hey look at my car, I'm proud of it and want to show it off" don't be suprised when someone or even masses of people don't like it. You're now "fair game"...

Also "a hell of alot of work" does not automatically = Looks beautiful.. You can put "a hell of alot of work" into any car and still wind up having it be tacky.. IMO I'm finding cars with body kits more and more tacky as the years go on. I think it's because I'm becoming more of an rx7 enthusiast than a "That rx7 with the body kit looks cool" kind of a person. Or maybe it's just old age setting in.

BTW, 99% of the forum(Series7 = the other 1%) hates veilside...

also, bladz311, I believe you got that work done within the last few months....you should know better about that kit. Not to say you can't like it, but the replies you got shouldn't be a shock and you should know what people are gonna think about it. You clearly aren't one who truly follows by the idea of "it is my car and that is all that matters", so with that I say you should have chosen another path if it upsets you.

I paid $1,900 for my many things to be done:

Ferrari red paint job (not the engine bay)
Install 5 pc body kit
Install sleek headlight kit
Install mirrors
Install hood & hood pins
Shave rear wiper blade and emblems
Remove about 5 door dings

and it turned out great.
