One amp or two?

For first gen, running components up front and 6.5's rear. Adding a sub (or two) in the future. Should I get a 4 channel amp for the mains and a separate amp later for the subs, or try and go for a 5-6 channel amp now to power it all? The biggest advantage of one amp that I can see is simplicity. I like that. Plus it might get me off my *** to go through with the expansion.

Any comments or expereince?

Right on.

If you want to just have one 10" sub or one 12" sub, go with the five channel. If you want more power and big bass, get 2 amps. Just make sure you arent underpowering whatever sub you choose, never can have too much power really. One 5 channel will be cleaner and easier to install (less expensive too). Hope this helps!!!!
