OEM rubber spoiler repair. how to??

A dog got a hold on this T2 spoiler and took an inch and a half by 5 inch segment out of the passenger rear side corner. I'm just scratching my head at what will bond with this material so I can hopefully repair it and use it. It needs to be flexible and have strong bonding properties so it won't just flake off. I was thinking maybe shave the bite area flat and smooth so I can super glue another piece of rubber on there and shape it?? OR is there a way I can melt some plastic or something and just kinda build it up layer by layer and sand it smooth?
