Question OEM interior trim pieces.

Has anyone replaced their peeling interior trim panels with new OEM pieces?
I've been pricing the parts new (I know there are several different options, such as repainting or over-lay kits, but I'm not interested in those options) and I've found that the part numbers for
the 93's are different from the 94-95. I understand that Mazda replaced the crappy finish on our 93's with the more durable finish found in the 94's and 95's. Is the difference in part number solely because of the difference in finish, or do the 94&95 panels fit differently?

I don't want to order the 93 panel and find that it is the same old crappy stuff that will peel off just like the original!!! If that is the case, I'll go with the part number for the 94&95.

Thanks Fellas!

Re: OEM interior trim pieces.

Well, the 94-95 rough finished interior pieces might be more durable but don't look nearly as nice as the smoother 93 ones. I've also heard that Mazda is about to discontinue interior panel parts for the 93 so they will be much harder to find soon enough.

Go for the 93 parts. I believe it was only the early 93 pieces that tended to flake.

Just repaint your 93 parts, or give them to me. The 93 finish is much nicer than the retarded textured one of 94-95. If you just take them off, have them repainted they'll be fine. Otherwise I'll trade you all my 94 parts for them

Use Easy Lift-Off (ELO) to take off the 93 finish. You can get it at hobby/modeling stores. It takes the bad layer right off and leaves you a good finish to paint.

Yeah, but you might want consider repainting them since the cost of replacement OEM parts is so outrageous. For example, it's about $2200 for a replacement touring leather seat. And that's for each seat! LOL!

Try Mazdaformance.com and also www.growlerauto.com/GALLERY/MazdaParts.html

The parts won't be listed on these sites, however, you can either send them an e-mail or call and they will be able to give you a price for the parts in question.

Both of these places offer a substantial savings over purchasing the same items from your neighborhood Mazduh dealership parts department.

The part I'm most interested in is the handle insert/handle assembly for the passenger door. My
handle is WAY broken and the plastic itself is pretty scared/scratched up. I'm looking at just over $220.00 for the part in question.
