New Stereo install in 1993 FD ( Subwoofer enclosure help)
Soon I will be ripping out my entire Bose system and going back with Cassette/CD double unit ( to fill the double din opening) with 6.5" front/rear and a sub in the back. I am thinking 10" in the rear wheel well right now. Not set on what amp to use right now. My question is how have those who've mounted a sub in the spare wheel well made the box to hold it. I have started working with fiberglass and wish to see a writeup or some pics of an enclosure being made up. With this info I know I can make a box. Anyone have some information please?
Thanks, Tom

Man, I agonized over this same problem, couldn't come up with a good looking workable solution......
Ended up just putting a 12" Rockford Fosgate in a Q-Logic box...
If ya come up with something, post pics, I'd like to see it, I don't really like that big *** box taking up most of the hatch area.....

Have you guys seen this box by DamonB??

It'll hold a 10" sub and still leave plenty of hatch space & the spare tire
....something to consider.....

I will be starting my project after christmas. single 12" Boston Pro in the spare tire well. Gonna be powered by a Xtant X1001 amp . Also gonna have Boston 5.25" Pro Series Components up front. With a smaller MTX Thunder series amp running these. And to finish it out a Kenwood Excelon Z828 MP3/CD head unit. I'll try to take pics of the whole project. Sub inclosure will be F/G with a wooden top, The amp will also be flush mounted as well.

Pioneer used to make (it is now discontinued) a subwoofer w/ enclosure that screwed into the spare tire well.....WITH the spare tire!!! You just flip the tire upside down, put the sub in, and screw it in. I've heard good and bad reviews, but either way, it'll be kinda tough to find a place that has one. I think the key is to have a good amp. I personally run 2 10" Jensens in a big Bandpass box set on top of my storage bins....sounds AWESOME, but now i have no storage. Oh well.

I am making a kit for a bunch of guys here on the forum. It is wood only; you assemble it and cover it. I provide instructions and spiritual support
Cost is $80+shipping to you. It is sealed and holds one 10" woofer. Email me right now if interested; we are already rolling on them. bottorff25@aol.com

A little OT, but here's a guy who made mine for my WRX. He does great work and is a great guy.
If you want something custom that looks slick, e-mail him...and no, I don't work for or with him . Just a satisfied customer passing along the word.
