Looks great! Hey, what kinda bulbs did you put in your signal lights to get it to be that colour? Also, I had an idea -- if you used the stock plastic lens as the front cover for your lights, you could probably make it look OE. Just paint the covers black, or what ever colour to match the body colour.

OK, so have you worked out a price yet?

walien: the white signal light on the right side is my LED conversion. im not willing to compromise the beam pattern by putting another lens in front of the lights. im not really concerned with it looking OE but of course i do want it to look nice. when the CF bezels are finished the look will be greatly improved.

dan: sorry the website has all the info but is currently down. the price is $450 for halogen and $1200 for HID. unlike some other kits, i use housings that are made for HID, these are not conversions and as such are DOT legal. the kit is a direct bolt on and requires only a very small amount of cutting. the included wiring plugs directly into the stock harness. all mounting hardware is 100% stainless steel and the brackets are carbon fiber and 6061 T6 aluminum.

even the halogen is quite an upgrade over stock, especially when comparing price with other kits. the pictures are all of the halogen kit as thats the one i run.

Oh no, I do not mean using the OE covers as a lens, rather, using them as a replacement for the CF bezels that you're using. This would probably be cheaper and easier to fabricate. All you would need to do is to cut the stock housings correctly so that the lights fit flush in them.

walien: oh i see what youre saying now. but my cover will be much more contoured to the new look than the flat plate that was the old light. also the brackets use the stock mounting locations so there is no place to mount the old light. and this approach allows you to keep your lights in case you ever want to return to stock.

ps: the website should be back up monday.

Ah, so the new covers will be more contoured, eh? That's good!

Very nice! I really think they look great. I would prefer them not to stick up so high but the look of the lights look great even without a housing; althought the housing is necessary for cleanliness.
Are you considering a write-up for do-it-yourselfers? I know you are doing this for some $$ but most of us would probably have to buy a housing from you anyway and you may get more people trying it that way.
Also, what is your LED conversion? Could you do a write-up on that too?
thanx,
keep up the good work and don't let a few opinions get you down.

They would look really sweet if sleeker and the highbeams were positioned lower than the low beams. errr vice versa... pic

its not really a do it yourself mod unless i post exact dimensions of all the brackets and you have some aluminum and carbon fiber laying around. same for the leds unless you can make circuit boards at home.

7 sins: i agree. but i couldnt find a way to fit everything in there like that without cutting or replacing the stock headlight bucket. i wanted to keep that piece for cost reasons and to not hack it up so that the option of going back to stock is there if needed.

I sure appreciate how hard this project is to get everything to fit. Other similar projects have failed to produce anything.

From a design perspective I have to agree w/ 7-sins. Having the inside lighes positioned higher than the outside lights fights with the lines of the car. It also make the face of the car look "worried" or "sad" rather than "mean" or "agressive". The difference between >:| and <:|

If you think there is any possibility of swapping hte hights (since you are using the full space) then it might make sense to quickly adjust the pic in photoshop to see if what I'm saying makes sense.

Since looks are one of the two main reasons for buying such a kit (the other being lighting patterns) this could be important. I'm just saying that if there IS a way to do it - well you just might make up for any additional work you have to do.

The knightsport lights do this, as does the picture above of the RX7even kit (shown above) that never got off the ground. It probably doesn't help at this stage but having the same diamater lights is also a plus on looks in my mind.

best wishes,
ech

IMHO true sports cars have hidden headlights. That is why I don't like the latest Ferraris or the new NSX, blah! Hide those headlights boys!

This is also why the Supra sucks.

you guys keep saying this but the thing is, I AGREE. what im going for here is cheap and high performance with minimal cutting. there just isnt enough room in there for what i would like to do. the best i can do is get the highbeams center slightly below the center of the low beam. i had a chopped pic on my site but well thats still down someone chop the pic using my description and see what its like.

on the other hand, maybe if you guys want to cut a fairly large chunk out of the stock headlight bucket i could probably do what everyone wants. seems like there might be enough interest?

I think there is plenty of interest... look at how many responses you have about the kit even before it's done yet.

If you can make a light kit that only goes up half-way, and costs less than 600 bucks, Ill drive to your house to pick it up.

The stock headlight motor is really easy to mod and I wouldn't care to how much cutting would be involved.

Examples..this is a custom job done by "Wael El-Dasher" i think.

I don't want or need HID's, just some nice Halogens.
