Hey Rich

Damn...that sounds like one hell of a deal. But knowing Mazda, $100 for illumination sounds just about right Let us know tho when you get it.

The glass always has to be half empty, doesn't it jimbo ?

I wonder how many of us yahoos from the Big List 1999 are still chillin' in the rotary (er, RX-7, hehe) game?

You gotta give it to him Rich...Jim is forever ready w/ comebacks. He never ceases to amaze me. It's simply inevitable

Oh and Rich...out of curiosity, just how many people were on the big list? (I didn't know you were on it...wow...you've been in the game for quite a while, eh?) And who else that's still here today was on it?

would you have to get these powdercoated or can you just paint them with regular paint? Also what color would you use to get them to match a 93 interior?

If you were going to finish something like that IMO powdercoating would be more durable. Paint, over time, would wear too much from normal use. In fact you may want to consider powerdercoated clear-coat over the the color.

This also probably belongs in the interior section.

Off to the interior section!

Also, I'd think anodizing them black would look pretty sharp

The finish is used "as is". Not saying you can't paint them, but unless yours are broken or missing, I don't see the point in getting these if you are going to paint them.

the reason i want these is because the a/c level control (1,2,3,4) has a scratch so light shines through, the a/c temp controls indicator is not white in normal daylight, and the a/c direction control is not big enough or something so I have a halo around it when its dark out.

I polished mine, just what the interior needed. Of course, I have a silver/ chrome/ titanium with black theme planned out.

Wink

A little help from my Dremel (rotary) tool and some green metal polish got the tooling marks off. A match to the bezel rings of the gauge cluster and my custom trim ring around the touch screen.
