i put a cd player in my s4 and my reception for radio sucks. hell the stock picked up better than this and i think that one sucked. since ther were 2 wires for the antenna do i use the male plug or female plug for decent reception.

Make sure the antenna is actually plugged in.... I assume that your car does not have a power antenna (or amplified antenna). If you can't see the antenna mast, you might have missed a wire when you wired the deck.

if you mean connect the power amp turn on or antenna wire,no i used that to wire to turn on my internal amp for the time being. later on i will rip amp out or just bypass and gvet the converter to switch amp wire to negativefor antenna. i am unsure as to why theres 2 wires for antenna, male and female plugs, and am i supposed to use the male wire.

Only one will fit into the back of the radio... so use that one. As for the power antenna wire, hook that up to the power control wire too, it's relayed so the deck will be able to handle the output. Just remember to turn off the stereo if you go through a car wash.
