Need Help in regards to running the Stock Bose Subwoofer

Hey guys i have just recently purchased an Alpine 9823 Deck 50x4. I took it to a reputable shop who does custome Audio installations. Now i have been told that the Apline Deck has a built in AMP etc, they also say that the Stock Bose Subwoofer wont work with an aftermarket deck. Is this true? have any of you kept the stock Bose System and upgraded the deck? is there any specific instructions that these dudes dont know about to get an aftermarket deck working with the Bose Subwoofer. I dont want to spend anymore money on audio to get some bass, i was pretty happy with the Bose Subwoofer.

You can keep the Bose system with an aftermarket headunit. You just have to buy some Bosch adapter of some sort. I got a buddy to install it for me, and he said it was a pain in the ***, since all the speakers in the Bose system are self-amplified.
