Need Help...FD Head Unit, No Sound
I've spent the last week searching before I started this thread, but couldn't find anything with my problem. I will make it short
Short version:
-replaced bad stock Bose head unit
-started car, worked great
-went for drive, started to get dark, turned on lights.... no interior or running lights
-checked fuse, fuse was popped, replaced fuse
-started car, started smoking under dash, shut off car (as fast as possible)
-pull head unit out, noticed my dumb *** connected the dimmer wire to the power wire.
-re-wired correctly
-everything has power now and is working, but no music is comming out of the speakers......
What could I have done???? I did notice that there is a plug that is not connected to anything. I'm not sure if it snagged on something when I was yanking out the deck(see images). Does anyone have the wire diagram that's under the dash connected to the stereo wiring?
Longer version:
I switched out the stock Bose head unit from my FD. I got everything wired up, started the car and went for a drive listening to music. As it started to get dark, I turned on my lights and....nothing, but headlights. All the dashboard lights and running lights were not working. I raced home and started checking things out. first thing I looked at was the fuse, yep it popped. Nice.....I thought. I replaced it and started up the car, all of a sudden I started getting smoke under the dash. I turned off the car and immediately ripped out the head unit to stop it from shorting out. After I new I wasn't going to have a car fire, I started checking out the wiring. I noticed that my dumb *** connected the dimmer wire to the power wire (shoot me in the face). So I re-wired everything back together and all is working well, but I have not volume coming out.
Please help if you can
