i cant figure out what these two wires are for. ive tried reading the diagram in the sticky above but im still lost. the two wires are:
green w/ orange stripe (1D on the diagram)
red w/ black stripe (1E on the diagram)
im installing a new HU and im eliminating the entire bose system.
and just to make sure:
blue w/ red stripe is 12V constant
blue w/ black stripe is 12V ACC

The diagram is pretty clear on 1D - it goes to teh power antena assembly. I assume to tell the antena when to be up or down (since it only needs it when the radio is actually playing). Your deck should have a wire for this - i'd be surprised if it didn't - but if it doesn't then you need to pick something else to hook this to, such as the switched power.
As for 1E ?? have no clue. Id doesn't appear to be on the diagram at all.

Well I think you just answered your question. I did a search on the forum for "Red/Black", and it looks like it is NOT ground (some people assumed so and caused problems) and it looks like it very well may be the illumination. Best thing is to test it with a voltmeter and see what happens when you run on and off your lights and adjust the ilumination level. If you search for yourself make sure to note whether they are talking about FC or FD.
