A couple of things

1. The woofers would need to be in an enclosure, and no a cardboard box will not work. If you just lay them there with no box/enclosure the RMS is more like 50 watts, and they will sound like crap.

2. Most home stereo's run at either 8 ohms, or 16 ohms, yet most car audio woofers are 4 ohms. So you would need to know the resistance of the speakers, and how many speakers, and if there is a passive cross over for the speakers (as I am assuming your home stereo does not have a dedicated sub woofer amp).

3. if the MTX speakers are full range then you can ignore the need for a cross over, but ohms law is still in force.

4 if the speakers are full range, and 4 ohms, and you have a left and right speaker, you could possibly hook them up to your home stereo as long as there are no other speakers hooked up on that channel. But your home stereo will be running at 100% more distortion than if you used the proper speakers. This will lead to the sound being louder, but also the chance of blowing up or otherwise damaging either the speakers or home stereo or both.

the system i have has seperate amps and inputs for the subs and mains....160x2 rms for subs and 60x2 rms for the mains...the frequencies played from the sub amps are 35-150 hz or something around that...and they can handle 4 ohm loads...i have an infinity perfect 12.1 so will i be able to run it with my system?
