Need window tint pics
Looking to tint my windows and was looking for a few pics to help compare the different shades, types, etc. A local shop wants me to get the metal foil type tint, it loooks good on most cars, just never seen it on a fd. I did do a search and most of the pics aren't on the older posts. Thanks again.

Make sure you choose your percentage carefully. Most people complain about the tint being too dark at night.

I recomend tint based on what color your car is. If it is dark like black or blue then a lighter tint like 54%. If you have a light color like silver or white then a darker tint looks better. Such as 35% or 23%.
Reason is that with darker colors you have some contrast with the lighter tint. I recently had 7% on the back window 35% sides (but this was way too dark). I got 54% instead all around and the car looks sporty again. Not pimped out. I have a Montego Blue 94. Sorry no pics yet.

Go with black tint, and don't go too dark. It makes your car look like every other ricer out there and it also makes it much less safe to drive at night. A guy I knew with 5% tint hit a car in a parking lot at night because he literally couldn't see it. It also attracts law enforcement, which is the last thing you want.
Stick with a conservative tint. Mine is 54% or lighter and it reduces the sun glare quite a bit without looking "gangsta".

Mine is a 93 silver touring. What do you all recomend? It is getting a fresh coat of paint next week so I want it to look really good. I think the tint the guy was talking about was the metal foil but you could choose what color tint was on it....like smoke grey, silver, etc.

If you have the $$ then I would get Huper Optik Ceramic tint.

Ceramic tint blocks more of the heat and UV then an equally tinted car. Also, since it doesn't have metal in it, it won't interfere with cell phone, radar detectors, and radio reception.
It just VERY expensive. I have it on my M3 and like it alot. The store had a demo with a 25%?? I think tint and 40% huper optik under a heat lamp. When he slid the glass with the normal tint over the heat lamp you could still feel the heat. When the ceramic tint was slid over, the heat disappeared. It was that dramatic.

I'm with the old man Rynberg on this one. Go with a conservative tint that does the job without hindering your view at night. Remember if you get pulled over and have dark tinted windows, be prepared for the officer to be a lot more agressive towards you since he can't see inside.
Here was my FD with 45% on the sides and limo(?%) in the back. The back was too dark too see anything when backing up. Would have gone lighter if I had the chance.

http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html can be helpful to make sure you dont go too dark. your profile says LA so thats 40% on the sides and 12% on the back. mine are 27% all the way around.
