Need advice FD stock CD player install
So I'm adding the stock CD player to my stock stereo radio/cassette player.
To avoid having to disconnect the radio / cassette (a real bitch) I pulled it out halfway and plugged in the CD player which I placed below it. Everything sounds fine.
THE PROBLEM: The CD player goes in all the way, flush with the surrounding panel....but the radio/cassette doesn't. It sticks out about 1/4 inch. It feels like the CD connector plug is hitting something in the back. (Maybe mounting the CD player on top avoids this, which is why you see them installed that way, but I'd like to leave the CD player on the bottom.
THE QUESTIONS: Did anyone install the standard Mazda CD player on the bottom and get the radio/cassette on top of it to go in all the way?
How did you do it?
Did you have the same problem I do?
Any advice on how I can get this setup to work?
Thanks for any help you can give.
