Name that bumper/hood
Alright, so this is the newest project for the summer. 1994 FD. Getting a rebuilt short block soon, and then we'll go to the exterior. But first, what kit is this? It was professionally put on at sometime, as the paint is a near match to the engine bay, and there is some small chips in the leading edges of the front fenders where you can see the buildup of Bondo/filler to height match the two pieces. If you know the hood, that'd be helpful too.
Thanks,
Ian

That is a mazdaspeed hood. Very hard to get a hold of.
Now the front bumber (not sure about the kit may be part of a whole)... But it seems to be wise sports (at least the front bumper is):

Looks like its just a full Abflug 3 piece Type-GTM kit.

Although I don't think the fender are OEM either...
So being as I can't find this ugly kit on any site other than edoperformance.com, would that make it rare?

I would guess it is an Evo-R sleek kit, especially since that was his build. If you go to http://www.evo-r.net/product/RX-7/index.htm its right there on his page.

It is hard to tell because the white blurrs the lines of the bumper but it looks like its the burnout/shine.

wow great eye.
Are there any quality bumpers/skirts out there that aren't fiberglass? Fiberglass material seems so cheap. I would love a OEM style bumper/kit in terms of fitment and quality.

^^ you are right. it's not burn out as the "mouth" is bigger and the oil cooler openings are more angular.
Scrub I believe has a vertex:
Apparently not good enough eye lol Actually the shine front (copy of burnout) is flexible. I believe it's a polyfiber (fiberglass and something else.. plastic?) in any case whatever it really is made of, the fact is that it doesn't crack as easily as a full on FB bumper. Contact theorie he was one of these bumpers and he would be able to tell you first hand how flexible they really are.

Montego is correct in stating that Shine uses some sort of Flexible FRP...it's actually impressive...at least to me after having a couple fiberglass bumpers. That being said I do know one owner who claims that it cracked on him while he was in excess of 140mph...but knowing him he had no bumper support and probably hit something...haha.
