My new seats :-)

Being in Europe we don't see that many 'rare' or JDM parts, unless we order it.

So I found a set of RZ carbon kevlar seats on a UK RX7 forum.
Honestly, the drivers' side (now my pasenger seat as I'm LHD) has serious wear on the cloth but both seats will be refurbished)

I bought these very cheap with rails and everything and I'm guessing I'm about the only one in Europe with these seats. So I'm frigg'in proud of it :-)

pics are cell phone quality, sorry

I'm going to put new clear coat on the backs and new fabric/mousse on them.

I'm going to have them refurbished with the Recaro suede fabric but I might ask the shop to use red stitching (like the spirit R nardi steering wheel and shift booth.

Should give a nice effect

Not me. I think you scored a rare set of seats for your FD and if you so choose, you could probably make few bucks selling them. I'd hold on to 'em though,.

The seats weigh about 10 lbs IIRC (or less than 5 kg ), but the rails are fairly heavy.

Switching from R1 seats to the Spirit R seats ended up trimming about 20 pounds off my curb weight.

Please do update us with pics when you get them redone. Congrats on the purchase.

Dam, what is that about $1500 dollars? Lots of money and it is still going to cost you a couple hundred to get them recovered. Let us know how they turn out.
