So i have an 87 T2 with the infamous burgundy interior. However due to sunlight and it being just plain old, it is fading at the door and the seats. I have thought about dyeing the entire interior and making it black, but I really like the red interior.
Does any one know what I could use to dye it or paint it?
I want to match the colors as close as possible to keep it as original as i can.
I have looked up restoration and some people say that if you paint it that will work, but i dont know the exact color of the original interior. Any clues any one??

Don't know if this will help or not.
VHT does a superb carpet dye. Have used black on all my interior faded plastic panels, and some on the carpet/upholstery in the boot. Great thing about it is that it sprays in a what seems to be very fine mist, and sticks to shiny surfaces better than normal black enamel.

yea i heard VHT has good dyes.
but the carpet is in perfect condition and doesnt need any touch ups at all
i am more concerned about what to do with the extremely color faded seats and plastic parts on the dash.
matching colors is really tough
