I agree with ZION76. I hate the look of these headlights with passion as well but you guys need to stop with the comments on how it looks, as he was just writing a review on the quality of the headlights. If you don't like it, move on. No need to get on his *** about how bad these look. It's his car, so he can do whatever he pleases with them. I know it's a public forum and can understand a few comments, but it annoys me when people behave like 5 year olds and ruin a thread. ZION76 posted that he was just giving a review on people's requests, so let's just leave it at that. He clearly asked everyone to stop posting their bad opinions on these lights. No need to try to redicule him for that.

good post above
not my taste, but you accomplished what you wanted to do within a reasonable budget and provided a nice review to boot!

i put these lights on my last fd as a temp till i went with sleeks.

they were quite a bit better in visibilty at night.

I am also one of those that thinks they look terrible . but they are more functional than the stockers.

I bought these headlights too - much cheaper than the sleek kits, which yes, do look nicer. However, for the increased ability to see at night, I'm happy.

I wired the Halo lights in to my fog light switch. They are just for show.

Haven't replaced the bulbs with brighter ones, but the eBay bulbs are still a huge difference over the 90's flip-ups.

my buddy here near me, got these lights we instaled them in his car and he loves the look of um and a lot of people tend to like the look also.. we changed the bulbs to 100w 6000K temp bulbs and used a relay to help the extra power demand and let me tell ya! if you cant see at night with his car than your just blind.. I bet he has more lighting power than a new caddy! and if you still need more add foglights or go to HID all around.

I lol'ed pretty hard at some of the comments in this thread. Those head lights aren't my cup of tea, but different strokes for different folks. Either way, nice review, forum needs more people posting reviews/tutorials/how-to's.

I'm not a huge fan of them, but they look fine. I'm glad you like them and that it was a good deal.

Some of the people on this board are funny, they don't want other people to copy their look, but they hate on everything that isn't their look. Apparently you're only allowed to buy $600+ bumpers and $900+ dollar hoods. Otherwise it's junk.

I just purchased a car that has these currently installed. Quality is good, light output is very good...will I keep them forever? Nope...but for a couple months I don't find them too horrid and can see how they grow on some people.

These came on my FD when I purchased it. I'm really not a fan of the look whatsoever, but they do do a pretty decent job as far as light output goes.

Nice choice sir. I envy you, your car is so JDM.

I really cannot believe that this thread is still going after i created almost 2 years ago.. It still surprises me how childish some people can be! I originally posted this thread just to do a review on the fitment and light output on the ebay halo kit for the FD after i had one of the lids fly off on the highway. And thats all.. But yet still i continued to recieve negative/stupid comments.. Did i ask for opinions? No it was solely for people who wanted a cheaper alternative to spending big money on a sleek head light kit. Being a true enthusiast and owning close to 11 Rx-7's the last being my FD. I thought this forum was a place where serious people can come and appreciate these cars.. I commend all who ever helped out with any problems i had with my car..But the car has long been sold and i upgraded to something when i finally got promoted and had more money comming in. At least on the Lotus forums you have a group of true mature enthusiasts that would do anything to help. 2 weeks ago when i had a slight problem with my car and i posted it on the lotus forum, one guy actually drove from NJ to come out to see the car and didnt want a dime or gas or tolls for his trouble!! Anyway guys best of luck.. Will i return to RX-7? maybe in the future when the NEW Rx-7 Comes out but till than ill enjoy my Lotus.

You didn't ask for advice on how to fix your car, you posted a pic of your FD with those eBay lights on it. Do that, and you're gonna get flamed everytime. Don't take it so personally.

BTW: We never DID get a pic of the actual beam pattern and lighting output of the kit...Like you said this thread was created for in the 1st place.

your posting pictures of the lights themselves but not the pattern they throw at night, which is what truly matters. In my opinion nothing looks better than stock flip ups except for FEED's TVR Cerbera inspired front. The sleek beautiful lines of the car are completely interrupted by those things, and that not an opinion its a fact. Do what you want with your car. If it makes you happy then whatever, shoot jizz in the eyes of your enemies.
