Question Making a 1999 spec Front lip spoiler fit a 1993?

Since I can't search for "99" or "93", I figured I would just set up a new post and hope someone has done this before me.

Bought the 1999 front spoiler. Started to install it on the '93 front. Obviously it wasn't a perfect fit (go mazda). Want it to remain flush with the edge of the wheel well. So I thought I might take it to a body shop to have them create a small cover piece to cover the expose areas that protrude from the front-side edges of the bumper.

Has anyone done something similer and had good results they would want to share. I think this would be a valuable post for a bunch of people who might be stuck to. I'm a perfectionist, so it just won't do to have it not fit just right

Thanks for the advice!

Stephen

I was told before I purchased mine that it wasn't going to fit right. I trimmed the pins on the outer edges to ease the install.I'm not finished with it, actually I just started and I am about to drill two new holes on the sides to finish the install. Is this How you did it? As far as the part going into the fender well, I guess I will worry about that later since I don't think it looks that bad.

How much did you pay for yours? The best price I could find was at http://mazdamotorsports.com/ it was only $152.10 before shipping. And shipping was only 8 bucks for Fed Ex 2nd day air.

Cool

I did my '99 Jspec front nose installation and only found that is not perfect on the inner well area but it fits and needed No modifications. I am by no means an expert but the fit is still perfect to the body and all. I did get the undertray which was told was needed. About a $100 dollars later found it to be not true, you can use the old undertray with mild modifications.
