Everyone has different tastes. The best way to start shopping for wheels is to start by answering a few questions:

1. What's your budget for wheels & tires. A lot of people forget how much decent tires can cost. The larger the rim, the more expensive the tire.

2. What's the purpose your car will be used for? Street cruising, Auto-X, Road racing, Drag racing?

money isnt a issue and i dont drive it to much. i was thinkin some kinda of street slicks.. but wheels are a hard choice.. sometimes tires are more money then the wheels.. kinda *** backwards.. u think it would be the other way around.. anyway, if anyone has pictures of wheels that would be cool..

Sure! I can suggest some wheels which could run you over $1k each! Take a look at JLine wheels if money is not an issue:

http://www.jlinewheels.com/

Depending on the sizes, you'll be looking about $2500-3000 for a set (without tires of course). They are custom so you can order whatever offsets you want. They have several styles which you can see.

My personal favorite:

I would pick 17x9 F and a 17x10 R.

deff a sick lookin wheel! i like it! it looks kinda heavy tho. is that chrome? do you know? i kinda want a black wheel too.. my FD is red with alot of black and carbon fiber..

why you say 17's? i had 18's and they looked kinda small.. i would get 19's because they prolly look the best but i dont wannna drift everywhere i go..

i seen they wheels somewhere and they had like 3 lips. sick wheels and i bet they would look nuts on a FD.. i think BBS might make them but i havent really looked around to much.. busy..

The "rim looking small" really has more to do with the design. For some reason, the Mesh style rims seem to look smaller than what they really are.... IMO, 17's are the best fit and have the best choice of tire sizes and brands. 18's now have a much better selection of tire sizes and brands than they did a few years ago but to me, most 18's looks like monster truck wheels on the FD.

As far as how heavy the rim is? You can email them for estimated weights for the sizes you are interested in. IMO, unless you are in competition with the car or using the car for road racing, wheel weight is not that big of a deal. As far as color, they are a complete custom rim. Its not like ordering SSR or some of the others where you just take what they offer. If you look at the site, you'll see you can order any wheel in any of their offered colors:

The picture I posted a few messages back is probably their "High Polish". As noted at the bottom of their color list, you can use other colors for an additional price.

If you can pick the rim/style you like, there might be a more inexpensive alternative from another company.

There is a PDF with the prices:

http://www.jlinewheels.com/pricing.html

Basically, in 17" sizes the price ranges from $500 - 655 per wheel (depending on width and color).

I have special pricing for me through Work wheels japan. Let me know if you want Work wheels, i can give a discount. Work Meister 2 or 3 piece wheels look great on an FD. Thats what i will run when i get mine.

18" Hre 542r brushed finish with Advan/ Yokohama AO48s. The directional 5 spoke design compliments the FD's sexy curves. It's all about the curves!

Porsche uses a similar design, and I've seen a few with the 542r.

Man, I love the rim style but I've just never been a fan for the exposed bolt look on wheels. I'll probably never buy a 3 piece rim unless the bolts are on the inside. I have the older Work Equips which I have been deciding if I'm going to sell or use because of the bolts.

Work doesn't make some of the great rims they used to make a few years back. They are moving into the "bling" territory. Check their website for their wheels:

http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/products/index.php

The popular Work lines for the RX7 are the Emotion, Meister, Equip and there are a handful of FD's using the VS line. The Rezax line is an older line like the Equip.

honestly tho, tires make the wheels.. you can have a nice wheel but without that right tire your wheels are going to look stupid..

Never been a big fan of HRE, but The JLine's are beautiful looking wheels!

Personally, if money is no object then I'm partial to Fikse (of course, maybe I'm a little biased considering I've owned 3 different sets). I've always liked the aesthetics/quality/weight of Fikse, plus it's nice to know they have a racing heritage.

Which model Falkens did you have? For the street, I would recommend the Falken Azenis RT-615. It's a very good sticky street tire which can also deal with rain. While I know most people say "I don't drive in the rain", you never know when you'll get caught out. 90% of the people would wreck their car trying to drove an R-Compound tire in the wet.

BTW, I would think twice before going to iForged. They have had some serious quality issues with their wheels; many BMW owners have cracked them just driving on public streets (just search the BMW forums; their designs are basically copies of HRE and are still almost the same price as HRE.
