Looking for an 8-10w amp
Looking for an 8-10w amp
Looking to find a low watt amp to replace the one that powers the headrest speakers. Any idea on where to find something like this? Seems all that most audio stores carry is 200w etc. Ask them for a 10w and they look at you like you are insane. anyone know of an online store or something? thanks
Years ago, Blaupunkt put out a 25x2 amp. It was the size of a paperback novel and you could stick it in your back pocket if you wanted to.
Aside from that, I haven't seen anything with wattage that low. Closest you'd get nowadays is 35x2. Look up Audiobahn's amp line.

There is not much of a market for an amplifier this small since most new head units output that much or more. That being said what you could do is get a 40w/channel amplifier with variable input gain and just turn the gain down. An added benefit is the output will be much cleaner.
I haven't had any issues with wiring my Blaupunkt Pasadena stereo directly to the headrest amp but the stereo only puts out 25 watts RMS/45 peak x 4 channels so I'm not stressing it yet.
Someone has this 25x2 used unit on ebay:
