Smile License Plate Bike Rack

Anyone ever used one?

I have seen them on Miatas and other cars but not an RX-7.

I read at this website http://www.bdiracks.com/bdiplate.html that "Vehicles with the plate mounted on the plastic bumper skin will require the use of at least two of the supplied spacers and/or self tapping screws to secure to the steel or composite structure behind the plastic."

Has anyone reinforced their bumper for such a rack?

Thanks,
Joseph

I think I'd rather just get a very small tow hitch and attach a bike rack to that.
The license plate screws simply feel WAAY too flimsy for such a job.

Hey, but if ya wanna experiment

Well, it is the perfect rack. And I don't really want to get a hitch.

I am going to check the car out tomorrow and see what reinforcing I could do. If no luck I guess I will pass, but if I can make it sturdy then I will post my results at a later date.

Thanks,
Joseph
