Leather shift boot ring

So i was trying to install a new leather shift boot today and after i get everything apart i found that 3 of the 4 screw holes are broken on the ring that the leather boot is stapled too. Any have any idea of other methods of reinstalling a new shift boot without the ring. If not, how much do you think it would cost just to buy that plastic ring. Any feedback would be awesome. Thanks

I used a (Large) Washer (Home Depot / Lowes) and and just folded the end of the boot over, the washer pushes the folded in part up to the handle and everything works...
