Ok I have a 91 coupe and an 89 gtu with vert seats , both black leather. The vert seats are faded and cracking and the 91 has a decent rip in the drivers seat alogn with some minor cracking/fading. What are my cheapest options for repair.

 

When those vert seats lay down they DIE! If you try to patch one section, the section next to it will soon rip. The Heat in the summer makes the Leather shrink. Best thing for you is to find a good priced upholstry shop and do the whole seat. I found one here in the LA area that will recover in leather for $650 per pair. Every other shop quoted 1200-1500 per set.
