i also have a 17 pg step by step installation process in Adobe format of the lambo door conversion...only thing is, is that its in japanese. Can probably be easily translated and the pics seem like enough to know how things come together.

Probably, but the conversion kits typically cost more than a 1st gen. is worth.

Just curious but does anyone even know what the RE Amemiya kit costs? I have heard it is unbelievably expensive but are there any solid numbers?

The RE Amemiya conversion, which does not (I believe) use the stock latches was reported to cost roughly $10,000, and you had to ship your car to Japan for conversion.

The American-made kits are in the range of $1,700+ the last I looked (which is still absolutely ridiculous for what you get) and use the stock latches in most, if not all cases. They're also "reversible", if you want to go back. Some even allow the doors to open normally or rise upward, IIRC.

Out of stock, but one of the better kits from the pictures I've seen.

Seems to be the same kit. $2,195 from verticaldoors, $1,995 from carexcess...

Same style, but called "gull wing"... God only knows what the page says.

After the verticle door kit, purchase this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...969855723&rd=1 and complete the look of your car.

A couple of the CF hoods have intake scoops built in (right above the aftermarket filter location). Who makes these?

Do these kits come with wiring harness extensions or do you need to cut and splice wires? Any one have a pic of this part of the conversion?

most of the good kits do. the vertical door kit has everything that you'd need. and auto loc has a kit now that goes stright up. doesn't pop out.
