The factory hood is aluminum so why don't people polish it and leave it unpainted. Hell, it only weighs a pound or two more than 90% of the carbon fibre hoods.
It is a ridiculous expense and a cheezy thing to exhibit on such an otherwise "real" sportscar.
To me a car, any car, with a black hood will perpetually look like a car with a bondo body kit or a junkyard trunklid that is a different color.
His car is too nice to leave in that state.

That's part of the reason I still haven't stuck on my Mazdaspeed hood.

my resoning for getting a vented hood is to cool the car off a bit. in my experience owning these damn hot cars (23rd), there is a pretty big difference with the vents in place. the hood looks great in person but your opinion is very well taken. that is why i posted this.

What's that paint code? That's my ultimate color for my car.
Red wine. I'll even take the wheels.

The paint and wheels look excellent.
The black hood makes it look ridiculous. That is simply a trend I don't understand. Black hood cars are always Neons, Civics and Sentras. It just isn't right on a real car.
The side skirts are also totally wrong on the beautifully sculpted sides of the FD, but if you like them, no problem.
A rear wing is merely a fashion accessory, so if you find one you like then get it. Just please, paint the hood and maybe paint the gerbil cage mesh black too.

I'm voting for no wing as well, although I think it'd look just as nice with a mild low one.

No wing either. Go get these plastic plugs from autozone to plug the holes in the hatch.

mesh
i had the holes for the wing and the wiper welded shut and painted so it looks like a base hatch now. i got a real good deal on the hood or else i would have gone with a fiberglass one and painted it. the mesh helps alot. i was thinking about painting it black but havent had time...just got the car home yesterday.

I agree. Paint the hood. It's so ghetto to drive around with an unpainted hood.

Very nice turn out Johnathan. Tastefully done. I say paint the mesh and you are set. As far as a wing, go without for a while till you make a firm decision. Because I think a spoiler either makes the car or brakes the car just like wheels on a car.
