JDM Round Tail lights..?

i was wonder do you have to do any mods to get the jdm tail lights off a 89-91 to fit on a 86-88 rx7....?

I have a freind who modified his 91 tail lights. they now look siiick. He took something out. Not quite sure what though.

you need to make a small modification yes, you need to hammer or cut the area like this write-up describes.
