Japanese Names in premier audio?

when it comes to audio, which japanese companies come in at the top for both head units and speakers. newbie at this stuff. eclipse, nakimichi? what do the gurus say

IMO: Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) and Alpine and older Nak (pre-Hong Kong made units) generally seem to sound better, than the majority of the others.
