Haven't done the power locks, but power windows is a piece of cake. Here's what you need:
1) Both power regulators for a 1st gen
2) The switches (the stock ones drop in, but you could probably get suitable replacements from RadioShack or DigiKey, but make sure they can handle the amperage)
3) the door-to-dash wire setups for both sides
4) the wiring to go from the switches to the wiring harness under the driver's seat (mine was custom built with RadioShack stuff, but it'd be easier if you could get a stock one from a junkyard)
I'm not sure how similar the wiring is between the series 2's, and the series 3's (I have an '84 GS), but I imagine that they'd be really similar. Oh, get a good wiring diagram as well (this is necessary for doing the under-carpet and under-dash stuff) Here's alink to a good one:

Everything is a drop-in replacement once the door panels are off. Make sure all the regulators are in their down position when going in and out of the hole in the door, too.
Good luck, and PM me with any questions!

power locks are a cinch.... go to ebay and look up stereoinstallparts as a seller, he sells the power door lock actuators for like $1.99, buy two of them, install them (pm me for help on that one... pretty simple if you have basic skillzzz), and my best advice would be an aftermarket alarm (that way you don't have to mount switches, just use it with the alarmm...
